A Boston, une mère célibataire âgée d'une vingtaine d'années voit ses rêves se confronter à la réalité. Entre son travail et sa vie personnelle, trouver son équilibre n'est pas toujours facile pour cette jeune maman.
Dans la France occupée de 1941, Shosanna Dreyfus assiste à l'exécution de sa famille tombée entre les mains du colonel nazi Hans Landa. Shosanna s'échappe de justesse et s'enfuit à Paris où elle se construit une nouvelle identité en devenant exploitante d'une salle de cinéma. Quelque part ailleurs en Europe, le lieutenant Aldo Raine forme un groupe de soldats juifs américains pour mener des actions punitives particulièrement sanglantes contre les nazis. « Les bâtards », nom sous lequel leurs ennemis vont apprendre à les connaître, se joignent à l'actrice allemande et agent secret Bridget von Hammersmark pour tenter d'éliminer les hauts dignitaires du Troisième Reich. Leurs destins vont se jouer à l'entrée du cinéma où Shosanna est décidée à mettre à exécution une vengeance très personnelle.
1970, Michaela, 21 ans, grandit dans une petite ville du sud de l'Allemagne entre un père faible et affectueux et une mère autoritaire. Depuis de nombreuses années, Michaela souffre d'épilepsie et rêve de reprendre ses études à l'université. Elle y découvre la liberté, l'amitié d'Hannah et un amour naissant pour Stephan. De nouvelles attaques épileptiques plus violentes que les précédentes lui font entendre des voix et lui révèlent d'inquiétantes apparitions. Craignant d'être renvoyée dans sa famille, Michaela consulte un prêtre. Il la persuade qu'elle est possédée par des forces démoniaques. S'opposant à l'homme d'église, ses amis, l'incitent à se faire soigner, mais se trouvent impuissants face aux convictions religieuses et familiales. Prise entre psychiatrie et exorcisme, Michaela subit un destin tragique. Interdit aux moins de 12 ans
Alors qu'il est à Berlin pour donner une conférence, un homme tombe dans le coma, victime d'un accident de voiture. Plus tard, une fois réveillé, il apprend qu’un autre homme a pris son identité et cherche à le tuer. Avec l’aide d’une jeune femme, il va tout mettre en œuvre pour prouver qui il est.
Morris, un adolescent américain fou de hip-hop, déménage avec son père à Heidelberg, en Allemagne. Dans ce pays qui lui est étranger, il tombe amoureux d'une fille du coin, trahit son tuteur et confident allemand, et tente de naviguer au travers des épreuves et des tribulations propres à l'adolescence.
Nous suivons un décrocheur qui se laisse porter par le hasard. Une parabole sur la liberté, l'autodétermination et la poésie d'une vie indéfinie.
